As I have a butt-ton of things to cater to and little time to moderate all my dA groups. I'm temporarily closing submissions.

Only the pre-approved administrators and moderators will be able to send their share of artworks and crafts. In the meantime, i'll be working to sprucen up the groups and have a more organized gallery submission line where you'll be able to better submit the right categories.

also, for those of you who would like to get involved: This is your chance to voice your choice!
Write in the comment section below on what you like and dislike.
"I dislike the fast decline of my submitted artwork"
"I like the featured artist theme"
"i would like it if the folders were generally better organized"

The more feedback the group gets, better more the gallery might have better crafts to share
...and who knows, maybe they'll be more contests too! ;)

>on that note, stay artsy and keep your eyes peeled for later updates!

:icondrpancakees: DrPancakees

DrPancakees makes original vectors, sometimes with several filters and textures applied to them to give some of them vintage looks, such as sepia coloring and paper layer masks.

Sometimes we just need cute pictures. The ponies' shapes, poses and settings make up just that.

Featured Artist, April 28: Stinkehund

Journal Entry: Sun Apr 28, 2013, 6:41 PM

Aside from drawing simple, original vectors, Stinkehund takes an extremely detailed vector drawing...

And applies to it several layers of soft-shading and lighting, giving the picture a whole new appearance.

Rest is just me and a tablet, trying to figure out where shadows would go and what the light would look like and shit like that. And a lot of blur-filters because i thought that was a good idea at the time... and it wasn't. It's really just trial-and-error on my part because i want to understand lighting/shadows better and pony-pictures are a really fun way to do that. That's why i'm going to do a better version when i find the time.

The settings are quite varied, yet the sceneries are always full of lighting gradients. Some pictures even are the same scene at different times of the day.

SoulSpade’s gallery consists of mostly rough sketches and digital art, done in a simplistic and soft-colored style.

His soft style and smooth lines make the over all work ascetically pleasing with good use of lighting and add to the over-all adorable factor. While similar to the show’s art there is still enough of a distinct difference to make his art unique. He creates a fluidity in his tails and manes that’s equally impressive and beautiful.

Looking for admins, new category, donations

Journal Entry: Mon Apr 15, 2013, 2:41 PM
Hello, esteemed members of FiM-Pics. How have you been?

:bulletyellow: Did you know that this group has a donation page? It can be reached at the following URL: fim-pics-donations.deviantart.…  Up to this point i have paid almost everything, but i'm not made of money you know ;) So, 4,796 points are needed to renew the "super" status this group has, expiring on may 9. So, If you like this group, could you show some appreciation by donating some points? :icontwilighthappyplz:

:bulletgreen: As life goes on, especially when someone undergoes the transition from becoming a student to a productive member of this society, one's free time gets severely reduced. It has happened to me recently, so while i can still manage this project i can't give it as much time as before. So... Are you interested in collaborating with :iconfim-pics:? If yes, tell us in a note why, which position are you willing to take and how much time are you willing to spend. It's not neccesary to be online a lot, but you're required to be active. I will open up the following positions:
- Facebook / Twitter account admin (Y'know, i had plans but i now lack the time)
- Featured artist of the week writters, available at least every sunday morning

:bulletblue: A new category has been created, "tutorials". As of recently a lot of aspiring artists with a lot of potential have shown interest in joining. So, what better to get them started than by opening a category that can gather materials that could be useful for them?

For the time being, that'd be all. Take care, and cheers.
